Open WMP by going to “Start” and type in “windows media player” and press “Enter” or manually look for it by selecting “All Programs”.
On the top menu bar click on the “Rip” button and a drop down menu appears with several different options.
The first option is “Format”, this option allows you to choose the type of compression for your music. I always select “MP3″ because it’s a universal standard and all devices and portable players can read mp3 files.

Next option is “Bit Rate”, select the quality of the rip 128 kbps being the lowest quality but smaller file sizes and 320 kbps offers the best quality but larger files sizes.
Now insert a cd into the drive and Windows Media Player will begin ripping the cd. As it’s ripping the cd you can uncheck any songs you do not want ripped. The Cd can be found in your “Music” folder.
