*This post is for bypassing the Windows login screen so it doesn’t ask you for a password every time you log in. This is NOT for forgotten passwords. If you forgot your login password check out these free programs Ophcrack or Offline NT Password & Registry Editer.
The login password screen is there for security reasons, it keeps different users separate on the same computer. If you aren’t too worried about other people seeing your desktop and files or if you are the only person using the computer than you might want to bypass the logon password screen. Here’s how:
1) Go to Start, then Select the “Control Panel”
2) Select the “User Accounts and Family Safety”
3) Select the “User Accounts” option
4) The top portion “Make changes to your user account”, select “Remove your Password”
5) Now you will need to enter your current password
6) Select “Remove Password” to confirm
7) You can now close the User Accounts window
Now go test it out
You have now bypassed logon password on Windows Vista. You will no longer need to enter a password, Windows will boot straight to the desktop.
